After a tough loss Friday night, the Nipissing Lakers men’s volleyball team was looking to bounce back Saturday afternoon.
After dropping the first set, the Lakers dictated the rest of the match on their way to a 3-1 win and a weekend split.
In opening set, the Lions got the jump on the Lakers, leading 19-12 midway through the game.
They used that lead to dominate and win 25-13.
The Lakers showed a lot of heart quickly, responding and winning the second set in equally as dominant fashion.
They tied things up thanks to a 25-15 win.
Nipissing kept rolling the third, leading 19-10 late on their way to a second straight win to take the lead in the match.
In the fourth, the Lakers put the match away thanks to another dominant set, as they won three straight to claim the match.
Nipissing led 10-6 early, expanded that lead to 18-9 late and cruised to the 25-16 win.
Justice Smith led the Lakers offence with nine kills, Marc Marchand had eight and Benjamin Franz added six in the win.
The Lakers remain at home next weekend, hosting the Western Mustangs both Friday and Saturday.
