MEN’S VOLLEYBALL FINISH WEEKEND WITH WIN OVER RMC

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team beat the RMC Paladins 3-1 on Saturday (Jan. 27) afternoon at the Golding Centre Kimel Family Field House.
 
Set scores in the match were 23-25, 25-13, 26-24, 27-25.
 
It was an intense match from the start with the Paladins looking to secure a victory after the previous night’s loss. After falling in the first set, the Blues were able to win three straight sets to secure the victory. A strong combination of offense and defense from Toronto helped the team in the final three sets, with the blue and white leading in all categories except service aces.
 
With a career-high 27 points, outside hitter Hunter Arulpragasam paved the way to victory for the Blues recording 25 kills and one solo block. Middle Lukas Humle tallied 13 points from 13 kills, while third-year outside hitter Jack Li had eight kills, one service ace and one solo block for 10 points.  
 
Fourth-year setter Davis Young directed Toronto’s offense with 61 assists, while libero Kenneth Mann led the Blues defense with 15 digs.
 
Leading the way for the Paladins was Maciej Tereszko who recorded 19 points from 18 kills and one solo block.
 
The Blues will return to the court on Friday, February 2 to face-off against the Trent Excalibur. First serve is set for for 8 p.m. All the action can be caught online via oua.tv.
