Rapperswil-Jona, CH – TSV Jona have signed middle blocker Luis Lange to a professional contract.
Lange comes to TSV Jona from Mount Royal University, where he posted 261.5 points from 189 kills and a .420 hitting percentage. Lange also finished top five in blocks per set with 1.00 and third overall in total blocks at 93 in the Canada West Conference.
This year, Lange was named to the Canada West second-team helping lead his team to a 17-7 record and finishing second in regular season play.
Through five seasons and 443 sets played at Mount Royal University from 2018-24, Lange amassed 1068.5 points on 791 kills with a hitting percentage of .343. He also set the all-time record for MRU in regular season blocks at 316.
“He’s starting his professional career in Switzerland with TSV Jona. They are getting a terrific player. He has an impact everywhere he goes. He certainly left one here. Luis will make the most of it and I have no doubt this will open more doors for him. That’s just who he is. I’m going to really miss Luis next year. He’s come so far. Living in Switzerland is going to be an incredible life experience in itself.” Cougars coach Shawn Sky said.
TSV Jona is a Swiss volleyball club from Rapperswil-Jona and plays in the NLA.
