It only took four sets, but the York University Lions women’s volleyball team had to work for their third straight win over the TMU Bold Saturday night at Tait McKenzie Centre.
They dropped the first set of their contest in a tight one, 26-24, before bouncing back with three straight wins by razor thin margins, 25-20, 27-25 and 25-22.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions turned to Jessica Reynolds for the majority of their offensive output, as she secured 23 points in the victory.
- That was well ahead of her teammate Olivia Kim’s 16 points — she was second on the Lions in that category.
- Kim was also second in digs with 14. That category was led by Tyneille Swaby, who came away with 22.
LOOKING AHEAD
With their recent wins, the Lions now sit comfortably in a playoff position with a record of 10-8. They occupy the seventh spot in the conference, with the potential of moving as high as fifth pending on their results against the 4-14 Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18.
