Introducing the Pemamkiaq Beach Volleyball Courts

In honour of hosting the North American Indigenous Games, we’ve renamed our Beach Volleyball Facility. Introducing the Pemamkiaq Beach Volleyball Courts!

“Pemamkiaq” pronounced Bem-um-key-ack, beautifully encapsulates the essence of our venue. It signifies the gentle drifts the wind creates in the sand and reflects the natural world that surrounds us.

By embracing this meaningful Indigenous word, we aim to send a clear message of inclusivity and respect. We want everyone who steps foot on our courts to feel a deep sense of belonging and connection.
We are incredibly thankful to the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) Cultural Committee for their invaluable contributions throughout the re-naming process. Their guidance and wisdom have helped us take a crucial step towards fostering a more inclusive and welcoming community.
Join us in spreading the word about our newly named Pemamkiaq Beach Volleyball Courts. Together, we can create a space where diverse cultures unite, friendships flourish, and the joy of the game knows no boundaries.
