Hennelly adds PACWEST All-Star Annala to the ‘Pack

KAMLOOPS – Another key addition for the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men’s volleyball team has been announced with head coach Pat Hennelly welcoming Dylan Annala to the squad.
 
“Dylan is a very important recruit for us, he brings a level of physicality at the net that fills a top need for our program,” said Hennelly. “We needed to improve the overall size and physicality of our team going into the 2024-25 season.”
 
Originally from Dinsmore, SK Annala has spent the last three seasons playing at the B.C. Collegiate level with the College of the Rockies Avalanche located in Cranbrook.
 
“I see a promising program with a bright future,” said Annala of his choice to join TRU. “Pat Hennelly is a coach I can see myself having a good relationship with and our mindsets as well as personalities are quite compatible. With the WolfPack I believe that I can develop further and achieve my goals.” 

Annala was electric this past season, racking up 203 kills in 75 sets of regular season action while also recording 25 service aces and 47 blocks for a College of the Rockies squad that was ranked near the top of country for most of the season. For his efforts Annala earned a spot as a PACWEST First Team All-Star.
 
That wasn’t the first time that the 6-6 outside hitter earned PACWEST honours however, as he also was named to the All-Rookie Team in 2022-23.
 
Playing volleyball since the age of 14, Annala spent the entirety of his youth career and his first season with the Avalanche as a setter before making the fortuitous switch to hitting.

“Dylan brings the size and experience to make an immediate impact for our program,” said Hennelly. “His experience at the College of the Rockies, with coach Cisco Farrero, has prepared him for the jump to Canada West.”

Annala plans to study finance at TRU.
