Gaels bounce back with straight sets win over Toronto

Queen’s Women’s Volleyball managed a split on their weekend road trip, bouncing back from Friday’s loss with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-18) win over the Toronto Varsity Blues Saturday afternoon in Toronto, Ont.

Hannah Duchesneau (Sharon, Ont.) had another strong performance for the Gaels, finishing the game with a game-high 13 kills while also adding seven digs and two blocks.

Aimee Lemire (Paris, Ont.) also helped Queen’s efforts in the win, recording 10 kills and eight digs while Mary Stewart (Uxbridge, Ont.) finished with eight kills and eight digs.

Shea Baker (Vancouver, B.C.) recorded a game-high 32 assists in the win.

With the victory, the Gaels improved their record to 8-2 on the season. Queen’s will return to the court next weekend, hosting the York Lions for a doubleheader on Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC).
