The McMaster Marauders women’s volleyball team is excited to welcome their newest recruit to the 2022-23 class with the signing of Payton Entwistle to the program.
“Payton is a great addition to our setting core, understanding the game at a high level and will contribute immediately,” said Head Coach, women’s volleyball, Tim Louks.
Currently in her final year at Ancaster High School, Entwistle has intentions of Earth and Environmental Sciences this fall.
“I’m most excited about entering a new positive environment, surrounded by supportive and amazing people,” said Entwistle. “I want to keep improving and take full advantage of all the opportunities that come with playing at McMaster and compete at the best level possible.”
A two-time city champion and all-star nominee at the high school level, Entwistle was also named Most Valuable Player for her Ancaster High School team. At the club level, competing for the Forest City Volleyball Club, Entwistle has gone on to earn two provincial silver medals, competing with teams in the premiere division.
“She is a great teammate and is fabulous in the practice room,” added Louks, “and knows McMaster really well already.”
Having a familiar understanding of the roster already, she’ll be joining and following in her sister Paige’s footsteps with the program.
“I’ve always been interested in McMaster,” explained Entwistle. “I attended all the games as a kid and dreamed of being on the court as a Marauder.”
