Third-year outside hitter and 2024 U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian, Lucy Borowski, tallied double-digit kills during the UBC Thunderbirds’ 3-1 victory (25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-18) over the host McMaster Marauders in the third quarterfinal game of the 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball Championship in Burridge Gymnasium.
Borowski had a game high 16 kills for a .333 percentage while teammate Issy Robertshaw added 38 assists in the win. Big performances at the net were the difference between the two teams, with the Thunderbirds recording 54 kills while limiting the Marauders to just 43.
Sullie Sundara led the way for McMaster with 15 kills while also contributing 12 digs and a service ace.
With the win, UBC advances to the semifinals and will play the winner of Quarterfinal #4 at 8pm ET on Saturday March 16. McMaster will take on the loser of Quarterfinal #4 in the consolation round on Saturday at 2pm.
