Acadia upsets Brock in five to advance to first-ever U SPORTS Semifinal

Erica Fisher and Jenna Lake both recorded double digit kills in the Acadia Axewomen’s 3-2 (25-23, 28-26, 15-25, 19-25, 15-12) five set victory over the Brock Badgers in their quarterfinal match at the 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball Championship at Burridge Gymnasium.

Fisher led the Axewomen offensively and finished with 12 kills while adding four solo blocks and one dig. Jenna Lake tallied 10 kills in the match, contributing to the Axewomen’s 50 kills. Charlotte Dean recorded 41 assists in the victory while Rebecca Dorsey led Acadia with 24 digs.

Sadie Dick had a game high 17 kills for the Brock Badgers and added one solo block.

The Axewomen will now face the defending U SPORTS Champions – the UBC Thunderbirds – in semifinal action at 8pm ET on Saturday March 16. The Badgers will meet the host McMaster Marauders in a consolation semifinal at 2pm on Saturday.
