University of Toronto men’s basketball forward Anthony Daudu and women’s volleyball standout Julia Murmann have been named the Varsity Blues athletes of the week for the period ending January 8.
Third-year forward Anthony Daudu totaled 27 points and 29 rebounds in leading the Varsity Blues men’s basketball team to two victories this past week.
The finance and economics major recorded a season-high 21 points, while adding 13 boards, two assists, one block and one steal in a 99-85 road victory at Guelph.
Daudu started the week with a season-high 16 rebounds, along with six points and two steals in U of T’s 93-72 win over York on Wednesday night.
The Mississauga, Ont., native currently leads the OUA with 122 total rebounds a ranks second, averaging 10.2 boards per game.
Second-year outside hitter Julia Murmann recorded a game-high 22.5 points in helping the Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team to a big 3-1 win over the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday night.
The arts and science major tallied 19 kills, two aces and 1.5 blocks, while also adding 12 digs on the night.
Murmann currently ranks seventh in the province with 3.06 kills per set.
