MONTREAL – Anica Pineault scored a game-high 23 points as the visiting UQAM Citadins rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat McGill 3-2 in women’s university volleyball at Love Competition Hall, Thursday. The set scores were 25-20, 15-25, 22-25, 25-19 and 15-11.
UQAM improved to 2-1 in the RSEQ conference standings, while McGill dropped to 1-3.
Elyssa Lajmi, a first-year graduate certificate student from France, paced the Martlets with 17.5 points on the strength of 14 kills, to go along with a team-high eight digs. Teammates Sandrine Methot and Emilia Grigorova contributed 11 and nine points, respectively.
McGill will host the Montreal Carabins (2-0) on Oct. 27 at 1 p.m.
