WINDSOR, Ont. — The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold men’s volleyball team was unable to get back in the win column on Sunday afternoon, as they fell to the No. 6 Windsor Lancers 3-0 (19-25, 17-25, 18-25).
The Bold came out of the gates strong in a back-and-forth opening set as Jacob Walker’s kill gave the visitors a 19-18 lead. But after that, the Lancers rallied off seven-straight points to take the opening set. From there, the evening was much of the same as Windsor took command and eventually rallied off their sixth-straight win.

Despite the loss, Walker continued his excellent sophomore campaign and led the way for TMU, tallying a game-high 12 kills. Saad Shaikh, Alex King and Taylor Wenzel all recorded service aces. Shaikh had a team-high 20 assists.
With the win the Lancers moved to 14-4 on the season and remained in second-place in the OUA. While a postseason appearance is already secured for Windsor, the loss puts TMU in an uphill battle to make it back to the playoffs.
The Bold are in a group of four teams vying for the final two spots in the eight-team OUA playoffs. Amongst TMU are the Western Mustangs, Guelph Gryphons and Waterloo Warriors. The Bold currently are one win up on the Gryphons and Warriors, but both teams have a game in-hand entering the final weekend of the season.
With their playoff fate on the line, TMU will conclude their own regular-season next Friday night against the conference leading McMaster Marauders. First serve is scheduled to fly at 8:00 p.m. at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
