TORONTO – The Toronto Metropolitan (TMU) Bold men’s volleyball team secured their first commitment of the 2025-26 recruiting cycle, signing Brayden Walker from Esterhazy, Saskatchewan.
Walker joins the Bold after an impressive junior career in the prairie province, where he played club volleyball for the U18 Regina Summit. Walker was also named to Team Saskatchewan’s 2024 Canada Cup squad this past season.
“Brayden is going to be a huge addition to the Men’s Volleyball Program. He is incredibly hard working, motivated and one of the most coachable athletes I have had the pleasure to work with,” said head coach Niko Rukavina. ” On his recruit visit, his first serve in our gym got above 100 km/hr which is a huge accomplishment for a 17 year old. Brayden also brings a high standard of academics to the program and will look to instill his leadership on and off the court.”
For Walker, the decision to join TMU was also clear after his first trip to campus.
“After my school visit, I was impressed with the TMU facilities and Coach Niko,” Walker said. “I felt welcomed and am excited to train and develop as a player and teammate.”
