KINGSTON, Ont. – The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women’s volleyball team returned to the win column on Friday night, sweeping the RMC Paladins 3-0 on the road.
In the first set, the team stayed consistent on the attack, making half as many errors as their opponent and racking up four blocks on defense. TMU hit .233 per cent, while RMC struggled at 0.062.
The second saw the Bold fumble a few times, although they remained steady enough on the kill to take the set.
TMU’s weakest set was the third, hitting .188 with only nine kills to RMC’s 11. And yet, the team’s blocking ability allowed them to come back from a point deficit and take the match.
Outside hitter Scarlett Gingera paced the TMU attack with 12 kills while Kylie Ferguson added 10 of her own.
The Bold will face the Paladins once again in Kingston Saturday afternoon for the second half of the weekend doubleheader. First serve flies at 1 p.m.
