Blues Take Down Excalibur

The No. 6 University of Toronto men’s volleyball team went into Peterborough and swept the Trent Excalibur 3-0.

 The No. 6 University of Toronto men’s volleyball team went into Peterborough and swept the Trent Excalibur 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-20) on Friday night.

TORONTO STATS: The Blues were led by left side Evan Falardeau and outside hitter Benedikt Licht as both players finished with seven kills apiece. Licht added an ace and a solo block to earn a game-high nine points.

Second-year middle Hayden Cavender finished with seven points off of six kills and one block. Rookie left side Connor Vanderkuip had an impressive debut finishing with six kills on twelve attempts.

Veteran setter Zane Grossinger led the Blues from the service line, earning four aces, while also leading the Blues offence with a game-high 28 assists.

Libero Daniel Tudor had four digs in the sweep.

UP NEXT: The Varsity Blues will play the Trent Excalibur in a rematch on Sunday, November 28. First serve is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. and will take place after the women’s game.
