Beach volleyball gets underway in Santiago on Saturday

SANTIAGO, Chile, October 20, 2023 – The Pan Am Games beach volleyball tournament kicks off this weekend at Peñalolén Park in Santiago.

It will run from October 21 to 27 and will include 32 teams, with 16 pairs per gender.

On the women’s side, Melissa Humana-Paredes (Toronto, Ont.) and Brandie Wilkerson (Toronto, Ont.) will be a team to watch, with their first match at 10:30 am local (CLST, one hour ahead of Eastern time) on Oct. 21.

Canada’s men’s entry is Jake MacNeil (Georgetown, Ont.) and Alex Russell (Surrey, B.C.) and they begin their tournament against Ecuador on Saturday at 12:30 pm local time.
