The COTR Avalanche are the PACWEST bronze medalist for the third consecutive season with an exciting four-set win over the Camosun Chargers on Saturday afternoon.
The Avalanche gave the Chargers a heavy dose of Diego Policarpo on the afternoon as he collected an incredible 29 kills, two aces and several digs. Gustavo Bertoli in his final PACWEST match was named the Player of the Match and had eight kills and a dominating serve making it difficult for the Chargers to run their offence.
The Avalanche captured the match with set wins of 25-21, 26-24, 30-32, 25-20.
The Chargers live to fight another day as they will host the CCAA national championship in two weeks gaining some valuable experience this weekend. Edvard Adolfsen was named the Player of the Match collecting eight kills while Kyle Stodola added 11 kills. Setter Ben Linsley was impressive this weekend running the offence and will need to play a major factor at the national championship.
