The Varsity Blues women’s volleyball program is pleased to announce that Anna Arellano has signed her letter of intent and has committed to competing for the Varsity Blues for the 2023-24 season.
“Anna is a hard-working competitor and is a passionate and curious learner,” said Varsity Blues head coach Kristine Drakich. “She is a strong setter, who loves a challenge and wants to take her game to the next level. We are excited to work with Anna and look forward to seeing her thrive at U of T both on and off the court.”
A 5-foot-9 setter from Toronto, Arellano joins the Blues from the Unity Fierce 18U squad in the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA).
“I believe that coach Drakich’s experience and expertise in the sport will enable me to advance in my career,” said Arellano. “Given its renowned volleyball program and ability to support me academically, U of T was the best choice for me. I look forward to growing not only as a volleyball player but also as a person. I am excited to work with the outstanding coaching staff and take the opportunity to play at a higher level.”
Arellano will be graduating from St. Anne Catholic Academy this spring.
Students who sign a letter of intent and commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
