Gold Medal Match: Titans de Limoilou 3, Fanshawe Falcons 1
After three straight CCAA silver medals the Titans de Limoilou broke through for their first national gold medal since 2010 after a four set victory over the Fanshawe Falcons; 18-25, 25-22, 25-22 and 25-19.
Limoilou is now an 11-time champion in CCAA Men’s Volleyball.
Offensively they tallied 51 kills led by the player of the match Etienne Belzille and his match high 14 kills and three aces. Nicolas Fortin chipped in with 10 kills and 14 digs and Jonathan Girard had eight kills. Setter Ludovic Martin was outstanding quarterbacking the offence and recorded 18 digs.
The Falcons lose their first match of the season but win the CCAA silver medal. Cole Jordan led their offence with 15 kills, two blocks and six digs. Zach Albert launched nine kills as did Sam Otten.
The player of the match was Sebasitan Lethbridge who tallied 30 assists along with seven digs and three kills.

Bronze Medal Match: Keyano Huskies 3, Camosun Chargers 2
The Keyano Huskies win their first ever CCAA medal with a five-set thriller over the Camosun Chargers to win the bronze; 25-16, 22-25, 11-25, 28-26 and 15-13.
Justin Delorme “was a beast” says head coach Keegan Kuhr. He finished the match with an incredible 25 kills and was seemingly unstoppable from every position on the floor. Radoslaw Brzozowski collected 10 kills and six digs while Levi Brunner had six. Setter Kelly Woods was named the player of the match for quarterbacking a well balances offence collecting 25 assists, three kills and four blocks.
The Chargers twice had match point in the fourth set and couldn’t close it out. Offensively Matt Bowers was named player of the match with 16 kills and 14 digs. Eduardo Bida was also solid with 16 kills and Rian Plante added 11 kills and 10 digs.

Match 11: SAIT Trojans 3, St. Thomas Tommies 1
The ACAC champion SAIT Trojans scored their first win at the CCAA national championship with a four set victory over the ACAA champion St Thomas Tommies; 23-25, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-23.
The Trojans had a balanced attack with eight players recording at least one kill led by Tyler Latu’ila’s 12 and Riley Grusing’s 10. The player of the match was Mark Anderson with nine kills, two aces, five digs and he had a block.
The young Tommies’ team learned some valuable lessons from their nationals experience. They were led by the player of the match Christian Christie with 12 kills, three digs and a block. Garrett Dickson meanwhile collected 10 kills and had six blocks.
The Trojans will finish seventh and the Tommies eighth following this CCAA placement match.

Match 10: Camosun Chargers 3, VIU Mariners 2
In a rematch of the PACWEST gold medal match the Camosun Chargers bounced back after a heartbreaking loss last night to defeat the VIU Mariners in five-sets in the CCAA bronze medal semi-final.
After a quick turnaround from last night’s five-set loss the Chargers showed their team character to win 25-21, 17-25, 16-25, 25-21 and 15-7.
Libero Elion Wong was named the player of the match for the Chargers with 17 digs commanding the back court and getting to loose balls. Offensively Jerome Cross put on another hitting display with 32 kills, 10 digs, had a block and an ace. Matthew Bowers had 10 kills while Rian Plante came off the bench with six.
The Chargers will meet the ACAC wildcard Keyano Huskies in the CCAA bronze medal match. It’s the second time they’ve met in this tournament after the Chargers swept them on Thursday night in the quarterfinals.
For the Mariners, their season comes to an end. Jeff Webb was named player of the match with a team high 15 kills, two aces and eight digs. Braydon Brouwer chipped in with 10 kills and three blocks.

Match 9: Keyano Huskies 3, Geants de Saint-Jean 2
The ACAC wildcard Keyano Huskies will play for a CCAA bronze medal after an exciting comeback win over the RSEQ wildcard Saint-Jean Geants; 30-32, 25-20, 25-27, 25-17 and 15-8.
The Huskies offensively finished with 70 kills led by Justin Delorme’s match high 24. He also added six digs and three blocks. The player of the match was Alex Andryszewski who used all facets of his game including eight kills, three aces, 13 digs and had a block. Radoslaw Brzozwski was also a threat and finished with 20 kills, 10 digs and six aces.
They will now prepare for the bronze medal match tonight at 6:00pm, which will be their fourth match in three days.
