The regular season is over and razor-thin margins across the top of the conference standings means the Bobcats are heading on the road for a first-round match up and against a familiar opponent.
For the third year in a row, the Bobcats will head to Langley to play the Trinity Western Spartans in a best-of-three series that starts Thursday night (Feb. 22).
Following Saturday’s thrilling loss to UBC, BU splits on the weekend to finish the regular season at 16-8.
As such the Bobcats finish seeded No. 6 in the eight-team Canada West playoffs and are heading back to Trinity once again.
The Bobcats split there just a month ago, as Trinity won 3-1 on January 19 before the Bobcats battled back in a five-set thriller the following night.
The surging Spartans won seven of its last eight matches since then to move to the third seed in the Canada West standings.

The Bobcats will play in Trinity for the playoffs for the third year in a row, after dropping the Canada West quarterfinal series last year and semi-final the year before.
Prior to the Covid-cancelled season in 2020-21, the two teams played a thrilling three-match series in late February of 2020 as well as the 2019 Canada West final at the Brandon University Healthy Living Centre, which the Bobcats took the program’s second conference title.
As always, this weekend’s matches will be streamed live at www.CanadaWest.tv (pay-per-view).
