CANADA WEST FEMALE VOLLEYBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | KAYLEE PLOUFFE

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western’s Kaylee Plouffe (Sherwood Park, AB) has been named Canada West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for the weekend of January 25-28. Plouffe was dominant averaging 4.3 kills per set, and 1.1 blocks per set while hitting at .538 in the two Spartan road wins over the Thompson Rivers WolfPack in Kamloops, B.C.
 
The third-year middle had a career-high 22 kills in Thursday’s incredible 3-2 win, to go along with four blocks. She was arguably even more impressive the following night, posting an errorless 17 kills while hitting .586 to go with three aces and six blocks in a 3-1 win.
 
Plouffe has been one of the biggest forces in all of Canada West and U SPORTS this season. She leads the conference in hitting percentage (.437) and is first in blocks per set (1.3). She also sits fourth in kills-per-set (3.51).
 
Plouffe and the Spartans will now have a home-and-home with the UBC Thunderbirds. Hosting UBC on Thursday at 5 p.m. before traveling to Vancouver for the second match of the series on Friday night. Match times are set for 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and can be seen live on Canadawest.tv.
