Queen’s Men’s Volleyball fight back for comeback over Brock Badgers

Kingston, ON (November 18,2023) Queen’s Men’s Volleyball walk away victorious in 4 sets (16-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-18) against the Brock Badgers, to remain undefeated.

The Badgers took an early lead in the first set, but the Gaels would come back with back-to-back wins in the next 3 sets. The Gaels opened the second set with a commanding lead, and an ace from Reed Venning shifted the momentum in the Gaels’ favour. The Gaels would go on to register 17 aces, while Brock closed the game with only 4.

The third set was a tighter match, but Queen’s pulled away for a 5-point win. Queen’s took another early lead over Brock in the fourth set and continued to build their lead for the latter stages of the set.

Erik Siksna topped the scoreboard with 11 kills and 6 aces, while Zig Licis registered 9 kills and 6 aces. Reed Venning was next on the board with 9 kills and 2 aces.

With the win, Queen’s record improved to 5-0. The Gaels are back in action Sunday, November 19 at 4:00PM at the ARC for their second game against Brock of a double header weekend.
