Queen’s Women’s Volleyball fell to the Waterloo Warriors 3-1 (27-25, 22-25, 19-25, 20-25) Friday night in Waterloo, Ont.
The Gaels opened the match with an exciting extra points set win before the Warriors, currently third in the OUA standings, pulled off three straight set victories for the match victory.
Mary Stewart led Queen’s with a game-high 20 kills while Lauren Mellon and Hannah Duchesneau added eight kills each. Duchesneau also had a team-high 13 digs for the Gaels.
Amanda Siksna recorded seven blocks in the win and Shea Baker added 39 assists for the Gaels in the loss.
With the loss, the Gaels’ record fell to 11-8. Queen’s is currently tied for sixth in the OUA standings, just a half-game behind the TMU Bold (12-8) with one game left in the regular season. The Gaels will close out their regular season in the second half of their doubleheader against the Warriors, tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Waterloo. Watch the game on OUA.tv.
