GAME FLOW
In the opening frame, the Lancers came out strong as Emma Shepherd kicked things off with an amazing block to put the hosts on the board first. The teams kept things close throughout the first set and were tied 8-8 early in the game. Both teams continued to trade points throughout the set with the Bold eventually taking the lead. Windsor cut the Bold lead to four, and a quick timeout would help the Lancers generate some a few more points but the Bold squeaked out of the set with a 25-23 win.
The second set saw the two squads continue to battle back and forth trading points once again. Tied 11-11, sparked by a Yaila Sealy kill, the Lancers went on an 11-2 run to take a 22-13 lead. However, the end of the set was not as close as the Lancers hoped as the Bold battled back got within two points of the Lancers, 24-22. Lancer head coach Lucas Hodgson called a time out, and a service error from the Bold gave the Lancers the set win, tying the game at one each.
Windsor carried the early momentum they had from the second set into the third, and Sealy kept the Bold on their toes with multiple kills. Shortly after, Aliah Admans would send one into the left corner that was shanked into the TMU bench to continue the Lancers run. Keeping the lead intact, Megan Gahima and Nicole Woelk would combine for a block to set the tone in this match-up. Back to the service line, the TMU Bold would catch a break after a service error by the Lancers. Jordyn Brearly would close out the set with the tip and a 25-20 win and 2-1 lead.
The final set saw the Lancers protect their home court nicely while the Bold made attempts to trigger a fifth set. Sealy would make it difficult to claw back with a swing off the hands of TMU. Windsor would take an early 10-5 lead en route to a 25-19 win.
