The No. 10 Brock men’s volleyball team earned several awards from Ontario University Athletics (OUA) on Wednesday, March 16.
Fourth-year outside hitter Logan House was named the OUA West’s Most Valuable Player and an OUA First-Team All-Star.
Second-year setter Grant Reddon secured Second Team All-Star honours while first-year middle Jacob Ferland was named to the All-Rookie Team.
A Sport Management student from Barrie, House was the centre of the Badgers’ offence this season and helped the team finish second in the conference in kills per set (4.31) and hitting percentage, all while collecting a program-best .700 winning percentage on the year.
House connected on a conference-best 4.31 kills per set, while also pacing the national pack with a .405 hitting percentage (.405). His 5.0 points per set, meanwhile, were good for second.
In what has been a consistently productive season for House, the St. Catharines team standout reeled off perhaps his best showing in back-to-back games against Windsor in February, which included a season’s best 25.5 point performance, for which he was selected as the OUA Athlete of the Week.
Reddon, a second-year Business student from Whitby, finished second in the conference in assists per set. He enjoyed a career-high performance against Guelph on Nov. 28 with 51 assists. Reddon also led the Badgers in digs.
In his first season with Brock, Ferland finished third on the roster with 43 kills while hitting for .416. A first-year Kinesiology student from Ottawa, Ferland was third in blocks (13).
House, Reddon, Ferland and the Badgers hit the court in Hamilton for the OUA semifinal on Wednesday, March 16. The Badgers face off against the McMaster Marauders at 7 p.m. Livestream the game on OUA.tv.
