The No. 3 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team took a 3-0 straight-sets victory (25-12, 25-15, 25-13) over the Trent Excalibur.
TORONTO STATS: The Blues had a balanced attack on Friday and got contributions from throughout their roster.
First-year outside hitter Asya Dogruer led all players with seven kills, while fellow rookie Julia Murmann added five.
Rookies Natalia Souza and Emma Lo came off the bench and had career-bests, finishing with four and six kills, respectively.
Middle Elizabeth Bilaway led the Blues with two service aces, and libero Sophia Currier provided strong defence in the backcourt with six digs.
Veteran middle Jenna Woock had two solo blocks, while third-year setter Hayley Goodwin had 34 assists.
