NOVEMBER 19 vs. McGill
On Friday night, the Gee-Gees kicked off their home weekend with a 3-0 loss in a thrilling matchup with McGill Martlets.

Avery Hughes had a team-high nine kills to go along with five digs, while Alana Leung impressed with eight kills on 13 attacks.
NOVEMBER 21 vs. UQTR
Earning their first RSEQ win since Nov. 25, 2018, the Gee-Gees defeated the UQTR Patriotes by a final score of 3-1 at Montpetit Hall on Sunday.
Looking to capitalize on their progress from Friday’s match, the Gee-Gees had to respond to early adversity as the Patriotes stole the first set by a 25-17 final score.
In the second set, the Gee-Gees turned the tide to earn a 25-20 win. The Patriotes jumped out to a 4-0 lead, which was quickly erased by Ottawa, as they evened the score through the middle of the set. Building on their momentum, the Gee-Gees settled in and closed out the win in the set.
In the third, the Gee-Gees kept the pressure up for a dominant 25-14 win to take the lead in the match. A run of seven-straight points to close the set delivered the Gee-Gees the win, teeing up the match-winning fourth set.
To close out the win, the Gee-Gees powered to a 25-17 final tally to earn the long-awaited victory.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING:
“Honestly, the kids have stayed together, they’ve had every reason to fall apart and be mad at each other but we’ve never done that. By Wednesday every week, they find a way to get back together. So now, there’s a lot of armor that they take away with a win. It’s not a fluke, it’s pulling yourself up on top of the cliff, we don’t assume every one will be a win now, but they can’t say they haven’t done it.” – Lionel Woods, Head Coach.
“It’s an indescribable feeling. I’ve been saying it for so long, that we just needed to feel it again. We needed to know that we could do it and have the confidence and that’s what today was. It’s the start of many.” – Tristan Peterson, third-year left side.
LOOKING AHEAD:
The Gee-Gees will take to the road for a matchup with the Laval Rouge et Or in Quebec City on Nov. 27. They will return to Montpetit Hall for their final match of the first semester against UQAM on Dec. 3.
