2019 WVB: First round matchups

The Douglas Royals, silver medalists at CCAA Nationals last year, are the PACWEST’s Wildcard entry. The Royals fell, in straight sets, to the VIU Mariners in the conference championship final. Led by third-year outside hitter Vania Silva dos Santos de Oliveira, Douglas finished second in the competitive PACWEST with an 18-6 record. They’ll face the Fanshawe Falcons, who captured their first OCAA Championship crown in 47 years. Fanshawe defeated the Niagara Knights in the OCAA final. The Falcons, led by OCAA Player of the Year Janelle Albert, finished atop the OCAA West Division standings with a perfect 21-0 record.
