GUELPH, Ont. – The Gryphons women’s volleyball team picked up their first two wins of the season as they defeated the RMC Paladins in a pair of home matches on Friday (Nov. 22) and Saturday (Nov. 23). On Friday night at the Guelph Gryphons Athletic Centre, the Gryphons would comfortably cruise to their first win of the season with a straight sets victory over the Paladins. Leading the way for the Gryphs was first year outside hitter, Sloane Fortin who led the team with 12 kills in their 3-0 match win with set scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-13. The Gryphons would build off that win on Saturday night (Nov. 23) when Guelph and RMC battled for a second consecutive night as the hosts would come away with a straight sets win (25-11, 25-19, 25-10). Jordan Vang, in her first season with team led all attackers with 16 kills in the match. Guelph improves to 2-8 on the season as they head into the winter break. The Gryphons women’s volleyball team returns to the court in the new year when they head to North Bay to take on the Nipissing Lakers on January 10, 2025.
