OKANAGAN — The UBCO Heat won in straight sets (26-2, 25-18, 25-13) on Friday night at home, topping a Manitoba Bisons team that was without starting setter Katreena Bentley.
Leading by as much as four towards the latter stages of the first, the Heat battled back, tying the game at 20 and eventually winning 26-24 as the two sides exchanged points. The second set was also close in its middle stages, however the Heat won ten of the next 13 points to take a 2-0 lead. The third was dictated by UBCO, who led 15-8 at the technical timeout and didn’t trail.
Kendra Andjelic had 15 assists and four digs in place of Bentley, while Andi Almonte led all Bisons with eight points, thanks to six kills, six digs and two assisted blocks.
