Week 3 of the PACWEST volleyball season was fun to watch with some unexpected finals. Here’s what happened.
FRIDAY
VIU Mariners 3
Douglas Royals 1
The Mariners used a lopsided first set to gain momentum and take down the hometown Royals in four sets on Friday 25-9, 25-23, 15-25, 25-15.
Capilano Blues 3
CBC Bearcats 0
The Blues wasted little time on Friday night downing the Bearcats in three-straight sets 25-18, 25-20 and 25-22.
SATURDAY
Dougals Royals 3
VIU Mariners 1
After losing in four-sets on Friday, the Royals bounced back nicely taking down the Mariners in four-sets of their own winning 18-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.
Next week the Royals (2-2) visit the COTR Avalanche (1-3) and the Mariners (3-1) enjoy a bye weekend.
Capilano Blues 3
CBC Bearcats 0
For the second straight night the Blues took down the Bearcats in a three-set sweep winning 25-19, 25-18, 25-15 to open the season.
Next week the Bearcats (1-3) will enjoy a bye while the Blues (2-0) host the Camosun Chargers (1-1)
