KINGSTON, Ont. (March 4) – Queen’s Women’s Volleyball opened their doubleheader against the York Lions Friday with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-23) win at the ARC.
Hannah Duchesneau (Sharon, Ont.) led the Gaels with 13 kills while Arielle Palermo (Burlington, Ont.) finished with 12 kills and a game-high 12 digs in the win.
Mary Stewart (Uxbridge, Ont.) recorded three aces, Saffron van der Linde (Vancouver, B.C.) finished with 10 kills and four blocks, and Lauryn Colpitts (Fredericton, N.B.) added a game-high 39 assists for Queen’s in the straight sets win.
With their win, the Gaels (No. 9) improved their record to 9-2 and remain second in the OUA East Division standings. The Lions fell to 7-4 with the loss.
Queen’s will host York again Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the ARC.
