It’s the final weekend of the regular season with a pair of women’s matches taking centre stage on Friday night.
CBC Bearcats @ VIU Mariners – Friday February 17, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
This is a bookend match with the top ranked Mariners hosting the Bearcats who are currently in last place of the standings.
In their first weekend meeting back in November the Mariners swept the Bearcats at CBC in a pair of three-set victories. They have already clinched first place and will meet the COTR Avalanche at the PACWEST championship next week.
The Bearcats have won twice in the month of February, including a split last weekend with the aforementioned Avalanche. They will try and do something they have not accomplished in school history, and that’s beat the Mariners at VIU.

Camosun Chargers @ Capilano Blues – Friday February 17, 6:00pm | WATCH HERE
Coming into the weekend the Chargers find themselves in a second-place tie with the Douglas Royals, however they have two matches in hand with the Royals finishing their regular season schedule last weekend. Regardless of the outcome this weekend the Chargers and Royals will meet next week in a PACWEST semi-final.
Back in November the Chargers swept the Blues in four and three sets respectively and they’ve won five of their last six matches, including handing the top ranked VIU Mariners their first loss last weekend.
The Blues on the other hand are playing for pride this weekend in front of their hometown crowd. They have a very young roster and this season has been one of learning. This weekend will act just like a tryout for next season as the coaching staff will determine who should return next year. Two of their three victories this year have come on their home floor.
