This Saturday, the Waterloo Warriors showcased their skill with a 3-1 win over the visiting Trent Excalibur, demonstrating their determination from start to finish.
The match opened evenly, with both teams trading points. However, a service ace from Liam MacArthur (Cambridge, ON) ignited the Warriors’ offense, creating an early spark. Waterloo maintained control throughout, capitalizing on their strong serves and precise attacks to claim the first set decisively, 25-12.
Trent responded quickly in the second set, scoring the first three points. The game turned into a back and forth battle, with neither team conceding easy opportunities. Daniel Nikashov (Vaughan, ON) sealed the set for Waterloo with a clutch service ace, securing a 25-20 victory.
The intensity continued as Trent fought to change the game’s momentum. Despite the Warriors’ valiant effort, they struggled to overcome Trent’s formidable blocking. The Excalibur capitalized on these defensive stands and took the set 25-17, keeping the match alive.
Waterloo regained control as the Warriors found their rhythm again, led by powerful plays from Lucas Redmann (Winnipeg, MB). They closed the match with a convincing 25-18 win, sealing the 3-1 victory.
