Volleyball’s MVPs

The PACWEST is pleased to announce the volleyball Athletes of the Week following the conference championship tournament in Cranbrook.

Female Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Rilyn Boorman – Camosun Chargers

She was outstanding during the PACWEST championship tournament, helping the Chargers to their first ever gold medal. She tallied 12 kills in the gold medal match and was a major contributor in their semi-final win as well. On the defensive side she collected several key blocks and made the opposition change their offensive strategy giving the Chargers the advantage. She was named a Second Team All-Star and a member of the All-Rookie Team in her first season out of Red Deer and now will play for national gold in Nanaimo in two weeks.

Men’s Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Eduardo Bida – Camosun Chargers

He was absolutely dialed in for his final PACWEST match and helped his Chargers to their second straight Conference title. Bida in his final collegiate season tallied 14 kills in the gold medal match and was a major factor from the service line playing in every single point of the PACWEST championship tournament. He was just as dominating in their semi-final win and will no doubt give a headache to anyone the Chargers face at the CCAA national championship in Toronto in two weeks.
