Women’s Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Nnya Mbaoma – Capilano Blues
Nnya Mbaoma put away a team- and season-high 16 kills Saturday as the Blues upended the Camosun Chargers in the final game of the regular season. The 5-foot-10 outside hitter also had two aces and four digs on Saturday as the Blues ended on a high note. For the weekend, she totaled 21 kills, five aces, and three blocks to help Capilano earn a split with Camosun.
Mens’ Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Ben Francois – CBC Bearcats
Ben Francois was an outstanding performer in the Bearcats last weekend of the season, lifting them to a monumental win to finish out the year. In Friday’s tight five set loss, he led all attackers with 22 kills (hitting .31) and had a block. Then on Saturday, he helped the Bearcats win their final match of the season, defeating VIU in a five-set comeback win. He tallied 12 kills and had a block in that match.
