October 22, 2021: Volleyball Canada is excited to introduce a brand-new event, the VC Combine, presented by PUSH. This event will offer a high-performance testing experience for volleyball athletes.

VC will be hosting a pilot of this event with the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) on November 6 at the Vaughan Volleyball Centre in Vaughan, Ontario.

“With the plan of taking this event across the country, the VC Combine offers an opportunity for athletes to complete the same tests that our National Team athletes complete. They will take part in 11 tests and measurements to see how they compare to their peers and against national team standards,” explains Volleyball Canada’s Director of Performance Sciences, Research and Innovation, Kerry MacDonald.

In addition to providing athletes with performance statistics that can be used to support training development and to share with potential recruiters, a Canadian database has been established to monitor and track the evolution of athletes throughout their volleyball careers.

Registration for the Vaughan event is now open for athletes aged 14-18 on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that the lower age groups (14U and 15U) will be tested at a 16U net height. The registration fee for the upcoming VC Combine is $75.

PUSH is a Volleyball Canada partner: The PUSH system empowers coaches and trainers to plan, track, assess and improve athlete performance in real-time. For more info on this technology: https://www.trainwithpush.com
