VANCOUVER, June 10, 2021 – Volleyball BC is excited to announce the return of The Beach Tour presented by Natura Solutions—a series of six tournaments held in three regions of the province that culminate in the Beach Provincials in Vancouver on the weekend of July 31-August 1.
“With COVID-19 we were unable to run the Beach Tour last year but, with the revised public health guidelines for outdoor sport, we are incredibly excited to organise its return this year with the support of Natura Solutions,” said Emma Gibbons, CEO of Volleyball BC. “Natura has been a longstanding supporter of the Vancouver Open and Beach Tour for the past 3 years and we are honoured to have them alongside us as we bring volleyball competition back to the beaches.”
The Jim Clive Cup is the first tournament and takes place this upcoming weekend at Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver. The rest of the competitions unfold over the following weeks ending with the Beach Provincials at the start of August. Natura Solutions will be generously providing a $2,500 cash prize for the winners of each of the 5 regional competitions with $10,000 prize money for the Beach Provincials. With the current provincial restrictions on gatherings and events, the Vancouver Open will not be part of the Beach Tour this year but Natura Solutions and Volleyball BC remain committed to ensuring its much-anticipated return in 2022.
Natura Solutions is proud to support Volleyball BC as The Beach Tour’s title sponsor. The company, founded by local volleyball player Rob Penz, is an industry-leading provider of ecofriendly enzyme-based cleaning products. “I have been part of the Lower Mainland’s volleyball community for many years and our main goal is to give back to a community that has given so much to me,” Penz said. “Something we talk about often at Natura Solutions is the idea that health and happiness are closely linked; be that our own physical or mental well-being, or the health of the environment and communities that surround us. This year has shown the importance of health more than ever and we are delighted to support the return of volleyball to BC communities.”
