(Rimini, Italy) June 17, 2021: Canada earned its fourth victory and second 3-0 win in two days at Volleyball Nations League on Thursday.
“I’m happy with the way my team fought today,” Gord Perrin, team captain with 14 points today, said in the post-match interview. “I feel it’s a step forward in this match… we haven’t played our best volleyball so far, but in the games against Germany and Japan we played better and we were able to win.”
Ryan Sclater was top scorer in the match with 16 points, Stephen Maar and Arthur Szwarc both had 11 points. Canada was strong in serving today with seven aces, compared with one for Japan, as well as in blocking (6-2).
Yesterday, Canada beat Germany but fell to Poland on Tuesday. On Friday, the women’s team resumes play and faces Italy, and the men return next week for their final matches.
