Sabrina Mayer is the U SPORTS player of the week in women’s volleyball after a record breaking 34 points performance last Sunday when the UQAM Citadins defeated the McGill Martlets 3-1 in Montreal. The fifth year finished the weekend strong as she broke her own personal record with 29 kills while also adding 15 digs and 3 aces. Earlier in the weekend, Mayer accumulated 18.5 points, 18 kills and 19 digs when the Citadins came up short of the Laval Rouge et Or.
The Citadins travel to Sherbrooke to face the Vert et Or on Friday night before hosting the UQTR Patriotes on Sunday.
Men’s volleyball player of the week: Sam Flowerday, Thompson Rivers

Sam Flowerday is the U SPORTS player of the week in men’s volleyball after an impressive performance leading the TRU Wolfpack to two victories over the UBCO Heat. The Australian distinguished himself in the Pack’s back to back matchups collecting 27 points on 20 kills, six aces and two block assists as well as gathering 5 digs In their 3-2 victory on Friday. Flowerday continued his impressive performance on Saturday with eight digs while also scoring 23.5 points on 23 kills and a single block assist.
The Wolfpack will be back in action at home facing the Trinity Western Spartans in a pair of matchups on Thursday and Friday.
