LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western have two teams in the U SPORTS Top 10 this week with men’s and women’s volleyball remaining in the Top 10 rankings. The men move up one spot to No. 5 after a weekend split with the No. 7 UBC Thunderbirds, while the women drop two spots after dropping their lone match with the No. 1 UBC Thunderbirds at home this weekend.
This past weekend the Spartan men split their home-and-home series with the Thunderbirds, winning 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-18) at the Langley Events Centre, and losing 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21) on Saturday at War Memorial Gym in Vancouver, B.C. The Spartan women lost their lone match with the Thunderbirds this past Friday at the Langley Events Centre 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-20).
The women and men will be at home this weekend when they host the UBC Okanagan Heat on Friday, November 15, and Saturday, November 16. Match times at the Langley Events Centre on Friday are set for 5 p.m. (PT) for the women and 7 p.m. (PT) for the men, and on Saturday are set for 4 p.m. (PT) for the women, and 6 p.m. (PT) for the men. All four matches can be seen live on Canada West TV.
