U SPORTS TOP 10 RANKINGS

Published on

LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western has two teams in the Top-10 position again this week in U SPORTS Top 10 Rankings. Women’s and men’s volleyball remain in the Top 10, with the Spartan women staying at the No. 1 spot in the nation, while the Spartan men drop to No. 9.

Both teams were scheduled to play against the Thompson Rivers WolfPack last weekend, but those matches were postponed.

The men and women are now off for the Christmas break. TWU’s next match-ups are scheduled for January 5-6, when they will host the Mount Royal Cougars. Match times are set for 5 p.m. and 4 p.m. for the women and 7 p.m. and 6 p.m. for the men.  All games are at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. and can be seen live on Canadawest.tv.

RANKINGS
U SPORTS uses the ELO rating system for the calculation of its weekly national rankings. ELO calculates team rankings on a game-by-game basis, using an algorithm that generates a statistical calculation based on certain customized variables that have been adapted across the range of U SPORTS team sports. For volleyball, U SPORTS uses a 50/50 combination of ELO ranking and Coaches Poll ranking to determine the final Top 10 rankings.
