TORONTO, Ontario – Henry Rempel (Swift Current, Sask.) is the U SPORTS player of the week in men’s volleyball following two impressive performances in their back-to-back matches against the UBC Thunderbirds. The fourth-year outside hitter opened the weekend leading the Spartans to a big win on Friday with 24 points from 21 kills, two aces, and three digs. Despite coming up short in the second matchup of the weekend, Rempel scored 29 points while he accumulated a career-best 26 kills, five digs, and two aces. The human kinetics student is now sitting at third in Canada West in kills, kills per set, and hitting percentage.
The Spartans will now turn their attention to the final home matches of the season as they host the MacEwan Griffins on Friday and Saturday.
