Female Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Sibby Bos – Capilano Blues
The 6-foot middle blocker was a force all weekend for the Blues as they did not drop a set on their way to a pair of home wins over CBC. Bos collected five kills to go along with three aces while making just one attacking error and one service error. The Kelowna native was also in on three blocks Friday. On Saturday, she reached double digits in kills to lead the Blues to a second-straight win to start the season.
Male Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Owen Lam – Douglas Royals
Owen led the Royals to two victories over the VIU Mariners this weekend, leading all players in the matches in several offensive and passing statistical categories. On Friday night he contributed 19 points in the four-set victory, totaling 17 kills (.324 eff), scored two aces and passed 65% perfect/good reception (2.5 out of 3.0 scale). Saturday, he followed up that performance with another strong outing leading the Royals to the weekend sweep and three set victory. He scored 17 points, 15 kills (.430 eff), had two aces, and passing 68% perfect/positive (2.6 out of 3.0 scale).
