LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western has three teams in the Top 10 national rankings this week. Men’s volleyball debuts as No. 3 after a weekend sweep, while women’s soccer drops to No. 8 in the U SPORTS rankings, after a weekend split, while men’s rugby, after an off week drops to No.8 in men’s rugby national rankings. In women’s soccer on Friday night the Spartans defeated the UNBC Timberwolves 5-1 at home, and lost to the No. 1 UBC Thunderbirds 2-0 Sunday night at home, and men’s volleyball swept the MacEwan Griffins 3-0, and 3-1 in Edmonton, Alta.
In volleyball this weekend the Spartans have their Canada West home opener against the Brandon Bobcats Friday and Saturday night. Women’s soccer begins post season play in Edmonton, Alta. against the MacEwan Griffins. While men’s rugby heads to Victoria, B.C. to play the Vikes in a critical match with national championship implications.
