MONTREAL – Batrice Stevanovic registered 12.5 points and Jael-Esther Telfort added a dozen as the division-leading Sherbrooke Vert & Or extended their win streak to seven with a 3-0 sweep over McGill in women’s volleyball at Love Competition Hall, Friday. The set scores were 25-17, 31-29 and 25-15.
The result also marked Sherbrooke’s fourth consecutive victory over McGill, including two last season.
Elyssa Lajmi led the Martlets with 9.5 points, on the strength of nine kills and an assisted stuff block. She added eight digs and one assist. Teammate Emma Waskiewicz contributed a team-high 10 digs on defence.
First-place Sherbrooke improved to 7-0 atop the league standings and will play next on Sunday when hosting seventh-place UQTR (2-4).
McGill dropped to 3-5 and now sit fourth in the eight-team RSEQ conference, two points behind second-place Laval and Montreal, which both own a 4-1 record. The Martlets return to the court on Sunday (Nov. 10) when they host Laval.
