Tickets for the 2022 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship are on sale today, as the Manitoba Bisons get set to host the best varsity talent in the country in two months’ time.
The eight-team tournament takes place March 25-27, 2022 at the Investors Group Athletic Centre. Tickets will be sold by session, allowing fans to take in multiple matches for the price of a single ticket.
The University of Manitoba (UM) was scheduled to host men’s volleyball nationals in 2020, but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be the first time Manitoba has hosted a men’s volleyball national championship since 1976 and follows up national championships hosted in women’s soccer (2017) and track and field (2019).
“We are so excited about hosting high-quality university sport on campus again,” said Gene Muller, Director of Sport and Recreation at UM. “The Bisons have a proud and successful history in men’s volleyball and we can’t wait to see the best student-athletes in action at the Investors Group Athletic Centre.”
Tickets not including fees are $10 for youth, $19 for seniors (60+) and UM alumni and $24 for adults. Bisons men’s volleyball are scheduled to play their national semi-final at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 25. Weekend and VIP passes are also available.
Manitoba has hoisted the national trophy ten times in program history (1978, 1980, 1984, 1985, 1991, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2003).
