BRANDON, Man. — U SPORTS and Brandon University Athletics are pleased to announce Sunrise Credit Union as the presenting sponsor of the 2025 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship from March 21-23, 2025 at the Healthy Living Centre.
“We’re excited to welcome Sunrise Credit Union as the presenting sponsor of the 2025 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship. Their support will help ensure an unforgettable event, celebrating the best of Canadian university volleyball,” said Pierre Arsenault, Chief Executive Officer of U SPORTS.
Sunrise Credit Union has been teaming up with Bobcat Athletics for a decade.
This past summer, Sunrise Credit Union was a major partner of the Bobcats’ charity golf tournament, which raised a record $100,000 for student-athlete scholarships and various community initiatives.
“Sunrise Credit Union is a staple in western Manitoba,” said Brandon University Athletic Director Russ Paddock. “With 19 branches across Manitoba, you consistently see Sunrise Credit Union supporting sports and active living. The partnership will help ensure we host one of the best U SPORTS championships ever.”
“Sunrise Credit Union is honoured to be the presenting sponsor of the 2025 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship. We believe this will be, without question, one of Brandon’s most exciting volleyball moments of all time,” said Tim Klassen, President & CEO of Sunrise Credit Union. “We are investing in the future of women’s and men’s volleyball and the leadership at Brandon University, which is instrumental in growing the game in this region and province. We couldn’t be prouder of BU’s student-athletes, coaches, and leaders. We look forward to witnessing the positive influence this event will have on the participants and the community.”
Brandon University Athletics is hosting the U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship for the first time. The prestigious tournament coincides with the 20th anniversary season of Bobcat volleyball in the Canada West conference.
“We are fully expecting an electrifying atmosphere,” added Paddock. “Hosting the national tournament is a privilege and it’s a responsibility we don’t take for granted.”
The BU men’s volleyball team has medalled in all four previous appearances at U SPORTS men’s volleyball championships and captured two Canada West titles.
All U SPORTS national championship matches will be played at Brandon University’s Healthy Living Centre, which has a capacity of 1,800. Nearly 500 tournament passes have already been sold for the historic event.
