Sundara and Mills earn Marauder Athlete of the Week honours

HAMILTON – Sullie Sundara and Brendan Mills have been named the Marauder Athletes of the Week in the opening week of OUA court sport season. 

Women’s Volleyball – Sullie Sundara
Sundara, a third-year member of the women’s volleyball team had a big weekend to open the 2023-24 OUA season. The junior recorded 11 kills on 25 attacks for a .320 kill percentage in the season opener against Toronto. She also added 12 digs, one block and five service aces in Saturday afternoon’s 3-1 victory over the Varsity Blues. After opening weekend, the veteran outside hitter leads the nation in service aces per set (1.67), ranks second in points per set (5.7) and sits in the Top 10 across U SPORTS in both digs per set (8th – 4.00) and kills per set (9th – 3.67).
 
Men’s Volleyball – Brendan Mills
An outside hitter on the Marauders men’s volleyball team, Brendan Mills had a strong offensive game in McMaster’s first game of the regular season. The London, Ont. local recorded 19 kills for a .225 kill percentage and added one service ace in the 3-2 home opener win against the Toronto Varsity Blues. He contributed three digs and a solo block throughout the match while averaging 4.2 points per set (15th best across U SPORTS). Mills leads the Marauders in total attacks with 40 and ranks 13th in the nation in kills per set (3.80).
